We woke up on day 3 in our beautiful camp spot. We prepared our stuff and headed out. Packing was already becoming a habit
Day 3, further into Germany
:Magnificent view of Nassau
The day began with a long climb. Climbing with this bike full of gear is hard work.
This long climb went up to 500 hm.
Time for breakfast! We had a chat with an older man who couldn't believe what we were doing
Another sunny summer day
We climbed 1500 meters today. Very intensive on this bike!
Getting used to my heavy ravel bike...
Holzhausen an der Haide
Roger on his fabulous bike. I really like the yellow panniers
As I had dreaded, this part of Germany was quite hilly...
But good workouts is what I needed most, as I was terribly out of shape
We cycled in between Mainz and Wiesbaden and this river is the Main
Actually the brakes of my travel bike were not super. I noticed that in these tight areas full of people and turns and twists. The brakes are mechanical discs and it is a different world from hydraulic discs
Crossing the Main river, which is home to Frankfurt am Main, one of the biggest cities in Germany
After the urban hassle, we found some quiet cycling paths again and the views were just dazzling
And that dude behind me was chasing me all day long
A lot of elevation gain and very warm!
I like this side of Germany, these never ending fields
By this time we were already in Bundesland Hessen, with Darmstadt behind us.
German style houses
We stopped here for a while as Roger had a phone call with his family back home
We continued in the afternoon
We ended the day in a place called Brensbach
We had dinner in a small place and found a nice camping spot in a field. Already 3 days done.
This was a very relaxing night in the tent
